King of Green RIICHI is available as a bottled tea in the Premium tier.[1] King of Green RIICHI Premium is a bottled green tea classified as Tencha (碾茶) / Uji tea.[2] Tencha (碾茶) is the raw material from which matcha is made, characterized by its fragrant tea leaves.[2] King of Green RIICHI Premium is made by the 16th-generation Riichi Yoshida of the Yoshida family, a tea producer with 400 years of history in Uji, Kyoto.[2] The origin of Uji tea is traced to seeds brought from Song-dynasty China by Zen monk Eisai in the early Kamakura period, which were then given to Myoe Shonin of Kozan-ji Temple in Toganoo, Kyoto.[2]
