NIROKU is a Japanese black tea made from 'Izumi' tea leaves by Matsumura Jiroku, described as the originator of modern Japanese black tea with 68 years of experience in the tea ceremony.[3] NIROKU is classified as a Japanese black tea type bottled tea and is described as having layers of umami and sweetness.[4] NIROKU was named after tea producer Jiroku Muramatsu, who was the first to produce Benifuuki (a now-major black tea variety) and is called the pioneer of domestically produced black tea in Japan.[1]
