Winninger Sektmanufaktur C-Kloss

Winninger Sektmanufaktur C-Kloss is based in Winningen, on the Mosel. According to the producer, it has been making sparkling wines by the traditional bottle-fermentation method (Flaschengärverfahren) for over twenty years.^[1]

The range comprises sparkling wines (Sekt), including a lean Riesling Sekt and a Pinot Blanc de Noir.^[1]

L'Hommage. L'Hommage is a Sekt made from 2015er Winninger Riesling Brut, refined with a noble dosage drawn from a 2010er Beerenauslese. The producer states the cuvée is named in honor of Dr. Ing. h.c. August Horch (1868–1951), a native of Winningen and founder of the Horch and Audi automobile companies.^[2]

The producer's sparkling wines are built on traditional bottle fermentation (Flaschengärverfahren), a method it reports having used for over twenty years.^[1]

Noble dosage. L'Hommage applies a noble dosage from a 2010er Beerenauslese to a base of 2015er Winninger Riesling Brut.^[2]

Riesling sourcing. Riesling grapes are harvested from the steep slopes of the Mosel river.^[1]

The producer receives funding through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (ELER), co-financed by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, for agri-environmental and climate measures.^[1]
